Remember our DIY Pocket Hand Warmers that make a great simple gift for teachers or friends? With Valentine's Day just around the corner, we thought we'd try this fun, easy gift in heart shaped form.
fabricof choice (cotton and flannel work great)
- sewing machine
- pinking shears
Step One: Cut out 2 heart-shaped pieces of fabric. (This project is a great way to use your scrap pieces of fabric you've been saving.)
You can make any size hand warmer that you want. Here is what we used.
Step Two: Place 2 pieces of fabric wrong sides together. Using a 1/4" seam allowance, sew around heart leaving about a 1" gap to add rice.
Step Three: Fill your warmer about 2/3 - 3/4 full with rice.
Step Four: Sew opening closed.
Step Five: Using your pinking shears, trim around edges.
Make just one, or make a few! Add a tag and deliver to your friends and families this Valentine's Day!
